Blanchon Prim’Sealer is a one coat primer for water-based varnishes. It seals, prepares and hardens the surface as well as saving a varnish coat. Prim’Sealer only slightly changes the natural colour of the woods, it dries quickly and is easily sands, reducing the time spend on your finishing cycle. Normally used on floors, it can also be used for all hardwood or softwood projects.
The wood must be clean of any old varnish, oil, wax or other finishes. Sand the wood ending with 100 or 120 grit sandpaper and carefully remove the dust. Dye following the instructions.
For wood that has been scoured, thoroughly clean the surface removing all residues. Clean surface and sand with a 120 grit paper.
Stir the container vigorously before applications.
Acclimate the product at room temperature, above 15 °C.
Apply with a synthetic bristle brush, a sponge brush, or a 6 mm roller. If you then apply two coats of varnish, sanding the Prim’Sealer is optional. If the application of the Prim’Sealer is not uniform, you must sand it with a 120 to 150 grit sandpaper.
